Meet the Social robots of CES 2017

This year, a lot of robots were to be found at CES. Big brand LG commits strongly to robotics with 4 new robots. Robots are rapidly on their way to become part of our daily lives. Personally, I am a big fan of social robots that can interact with humans and help us with our chores and work. CES 2017 had some interesting news to offer. LG launched an Airport robot to guide travelers and an Airport Cleaning robot. In addition, LG launched the Hub Robot (Alexa powered, very JIBO like) and a lawn mower. Bringing […]

What will you do when robots take over your work?

It seems to me that whenever we hear about robots in the news, the story is always negative. People worry about losing their jobs, but I think that attitude is far too pessimistic. Robots will make our lives much more fun and meaningful, and give us time to do the things we enjoy! Do you have any idea what you would do if you had lots of free time? I do. I want to spend even more time discovering new technologies and telling everybody about them, and travel to meet new people. My wife also […]

The 7 sins of Evil UXD

UX Design as we understand is a science to make technology easy, better and to improve relationship with brands, by understanding users’ psychology. Just like a trusted friend, UX Design undoubtedly is like a protagonist who is virtuous and is always user-centric. Like they say, every protagonist is incomplete without a antagonist, in this case its the the evil twin of UX- The evil UXD.  In this blog, let’s have a look at the antagonist of UX, where UX design is drawn towards the darker side to use the very virtuous UX heuristics for evil […]

Poor driving style: the root of all evil

Everyone is bothered by poor drivers on the road. We are going to resolve this problem once and for all with the Flo driving style app. It coaches people while driving, because driving can be a lot cheaper, more social, better for the environment, more enjoyable and safer. It is ‘the root of all evil’. Many unpleasant and even scary experiences in traffic boil down to one thing: a poor driving style.  Drivers accelerate too quickly, speed down the road and then slam on the brakes at the last minute. And that leads to problems. […]

Respond to change – Agile

When I first started doing Scrum I was focused on project delivery. As a software professional I wanted to find better ways of delivering customer value and Scrum made total sense to me. But as I applied Scrum, I started to realize that Scrum isn’t actually about delivery; it is about change. What is Agile Methodology …. here is a quick overview. Agile is a group of methods based on iterative and incremental development, where requirements and solutions evolve through collaboration between self-organizing, cross-functional teams. Agile promotes adaptive planning, evolutionary development and delivery – a time-boxed iterative approach – and encourages rapid and […]

GOING DIGITAL EN MASSE……. but why?

Digitization in government often boils down to efficiency – and I think that is a shame. In essence, it is actually something much more tangible than that: it can create a completely different relationship between the government and its citizens. Digitization allows information to be shared quickly and simply, and it makes it easy to involve people ‘en masse’ in the organization of their own environment. Recently, I was interested in reading the blog by the Dutch Digi Commissioner Bas Eenhoorn. In the article he spoke out against how our government is going digital: in his […]
